Nature center Preschool

The Pioneers Park Nature Center is a perfect place for young children to learn colors, counting, shapes, sizes, and spatial awareness through nature exploration. Our caring staff has a strong commitment to both the environment and to active learning. Your child’s individual strengths and talents will be nurtured through a wide variety of daily activities.
The Nature Center Preschool serves children ages three to five years old. An annual enrollment fee must accompany registration. Registration is a contract for a full school year. Sessions are held September through May:
- Tuesday/Thursday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Nature Center Pre-K Program
Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. The program is designed to support a child’s transition from preschool to kindergarten. In addition to the Nature Center Preschool’s emphasis on outdoor exploration, the curriculum will focus on
- letter recognition and printing
- phonics and sight words
- journaling
- numbers and math skills
- music and movement
Our Mission
The mission of Pioneers Park Nature Center is to interpret the natural history of Nebraska and the central great plains; to promote the enjoyment, appreciation and awareness of our natural environment; to practice and foster a conservation ethic; and to provide a sanctuary for wildlife and a peaceful retreat for people.

Open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Suggested Donations: $3/person, $5/family, or $10/group
